VISUAL ART PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
In 2018 Shea was selected to participate in the CSArt Share program coordinated by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Arts Council. "Community Supported Art takes the model of buying a farm share to help support local agriculture and adapts it to supporting art-making in our community. Buy one of our shares and you get fresh, high-quality art at a reasonable price. Your purchase supports local artists, your neighbors, working right here in Cambridge. Which helps keep Cambridge creative."
2014 - 2018 Core Member of the Fountain Street Fine Art Gallery. Fountain Street Fine Art Gallery was founded by artists Marie Craig and Cheryl Clinton in 2011 in a century-old mill building in Framingham MA. In 2017 the gallery moved to a space in Boston’s SoWa art district, nestled among inviting shops, artist studios and galleries in a vibrant and diverse up-and-coming neighborhood.
From 2011-2017 Shea was the Assistant Director of the Cambridge Art Association (CAA). Within that position Shea managed the daily operations of a non-profit visual arts gallery. CAA currently includes 500+ members and produces over 25 exhibitions a year at the Kathryn Schultz Gallery, University Place Gallery (as well as satellite locations).
Fall of 2015 Shea co-curated two exhibitions at the Nave Gallery, Somerville Massachusetts, in November and December 2015 for emerging female artists. Reclamation I and Reclamation II (click here to see more information).
